THE PLAZA

The new St. Catharines Skatepark is DONE! The grand opening took place on Sept 10th - hundreds of people jammed the park during the event. It was pure chaos pretty much all day... and continues to be jammed almost every day since! Big thanks to Mayor Rigby, Ald Carol Disher and City Council, Kathy Moldenhauer, the Skatepark Comittee...and everyone else that donated thier time, efforts and money to make this dream a reality. December gossip....Heath Kirchart got hit by a car in front of his house but walked away with a broken collar bone and minor knee injuries...Ali Boulala is now on Etnies, joining new edition Kyle Leeper...and Eric Koston is jumping the eS ship for part ownership over at Lakai by June 06. Lastly, Leo Romero is getting a pro model on Emerica + Baker.

BAD NEWS: as more + more clowns enter the skate biz its sad to see a skater-owned shop go down...CYRIL Skateshop in Fonthill closed its doors for good in October ...we all wish Mike Todd the best of luck with his future endeavors...TERRIBLE NEWS: Lee "Leeside" Matasi was shot and killed in Vancouver trying to break up a fight - our prayers go out to his family + friends
